• Evangelism Through Education

  Teachers have a huge influence and opportunity to connect with youth in a unique and positive way. Mark will be teaching computer at YISS and has the opportunity to teach missionary kids as well as unbelievers at the school. Malia is also hope to continue teaching English to kids in the slum community.

• Church Ministry and Development

  Being involved in the local church is a vital element to local missions. In the past when we were living in the Middle East and Asia, we have been able to serve in various ministry roles, leading Bible studies, and discipleship. We are excited to be part of a church in Seoul and and learning the language.

• Mission Trips to SE Asia

  We spent two years investing into the Thai culture and ministries in Thailand. We believe we should maintain a connection with the ministries we were involved with such as the slums, church, and the people we disciple. Since we will be living closer to Thailand, we hope to take small teams on short-term missions trips starting next April.

In Korea, about 70 percent of the people claim to be Buddhists or have no religion. Because we served in Thailand, we are very familiar with how to reach Buddhists and look forward to becoming an influence through relationships and by example. We will be praying and keeping an eye on the tense relationships between North and South Korea. Recently, North Korea has been reported to have deployed missiles, which ended its former agreements with South Korea, and threatened South Korea and the United States not to interfere with a dangerous satellite launch it is planning.

We found the school through our missionary friends in Bangkok who used to teach in Korea. The school is supported and accredited by ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) and after following a rigorous application process, Mark was offered the position as the high school computer teacher. He has the incredible opportunity to build the computer program at the school and manage its quality and growth. We will also both be able to be involved with after school student ministries and coaching. The Christian school has a student body of about 700 students from over 40 countries with a mix of both nonbelievers and missionary kids.
