This is a poem written for my recent book, Pearls, Sands, and Flamboyance:
Faith— to move, minus reason to trust, without season to live, irrespective to act on His objective— The forgotten beauty of dependence: transcendence. Hope— piety purged of pride courage, credit denied focus, further than now ready, hand to the plough— The blessed creed of Christendom: Thy kingdom come. Love— Hands that offer support Lips that kindly exhort A heart: open, exposed A person with Christ enclosed— The crucial quality out of fashion: compassion. |
